Alternative Common Names

silver senna, feathery cassia.

Evergreen shrub that grows 1-3 m in height.

Leaves - grey-green pinnate with between 1 and 8 pairs of leaflets.

Flowers - 1.5cm in diameter yellow “pea” flowers.

Pods - 2 to 7 cm long flat green pods follow flowering, age to dark brown.

Flowering winter-spring.

Habitat

The species adapts to a wide range of climatic conditions, but is susceptible to frost, especially when young. It prefers dry, well-drained sites with full sun.
